Beat the heat — or, at least, cool down — Wednesday at the annual Beat the Heat Splash Day, a wet and wild water carnival for children ages 1-12.
Prepare to get soaked as a fire truck arrives to spray water on the crowd. Or run through sprinklers, blow bubbles and other activities at the city- and Eastside Fire & Rescue-sponsored event.
Splashes start at 1 p.m. on the lawn at the Issaquah Community Center, 301 Rainier Blvd. S. Cost: $2 per child.
