Issaquah High School golfers top Inglemoor

NEW — 8 a.m. Sept. 15, 2010

Cameron Simpson shot a par 36 Monday to lead the unbeaten Issaquah High School boys golf team to a 187-198 victory against visiting Inglemoor in a 4A KingCo Conference match at the Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course.

Bryan Jung and Alex Ciszewski each shots 37s for Issaquah, which raised its record to 4-0. The Eagles meet Eastlake on Thursday in a key 4A KingCo Conference match at the Sahalee Country Club.

In 3A/2A KingCo action, Mount Si defeated Liberty 204-212 at the Maplewood Golf Course in Renton. Jack Kelley, of Mount Si, was medalist with a par 36. Jordan Thompson and Harrison Diemert each had 40s to lead Liberty.

Liberty volleyball team blanks Bellevue

Megan Tsutakawa and Aspen Winegar were all over the court for Liberty High School on Monday as they led the Patriots’ volleyball team to a 3-0 3A/2A KingCo Conference victory against visiting Bellevue.

Liberty won the games 25-13, 28-26, 25-15. Tsutakawa had 30 assists, 12 digs and three aces. Winegar had six kills, 14 digs and five aces.

Kristy Braunston contributed 19 digs and six aces for Liberty, which won its first match of the season after opening with two losses.

Issaquah’s Lyons roars at triathlon

Ethan Lyons, of Issaquah, finished first Sept. 12 at the Escape from the Rock Triathlon on Mercer Island. Lyons won in a time for 46 minutes, 42 seconds.
