Patriots win second straight soccer match

The Liberty High School girls soccer team is off to a great start in 3A/2A KingCo Conference action. The Patriots won their second game of the week Thursday by blanking visiting Bellevue 2-0.
Cassidy Nangle scored both goals for Liberty in the first half.
Goalkeepers Macaire Ament and Jennifer Rucker recorded the shutout.
Liberty is 2-0 in KingCo and 2-2 on the season.
In other action, it was Mercer Island 2, Juanita 1; Interlake 4, Lake Washington 3; and Mount Si 2, Sammamish 1.
Issaquah golfers suffer first defeat
The Issaquah High School boys golf team had a four-match 4A KingCo Conference winning streak snapped Thursday when the Eagles lost to host Eastlake 193-211 at the Sahalee Country Club.
Spencer Weiss, of Eastlake, was medalist with a 1-over-par 37. Alex Ciszewski topped Issaquah with a 40.
In 3A/2A KingCo action, Liberty lost to host Mercer Island 182-208 at Twin Rivers Golf Course. Mercer Island’s Brandon Shin was medalist with a 1-over-par 35. Harrison Diemert had Liberty’s top score with a 38.
Skyline volleyball team loses tough match
The Skyline High School volleyball team seemed evenly matched with host Mercer Island on Thursday but the host Islanders prevailed in the nonleague match 3-1.
Skyline won the first game 25-19 but Mercer Island took the next three 25-23, 26-24, 25-23.
Maddie Magee had 19 kills and 3 saves, and Alyssa Workman had 31 assists for Skyline.
