Help raise money for cancer research at a Bellevue barbecue Wednesday.

Embassy Suites in Bellevue has pledged to raise $1,000 for LIVESTRONG. The hotel asks guests for a $10 donation for a barbecue lunch and a raffle. The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the hotel, 3225 158th Ave. S.E., Bellevue.

The hotel chain has partnered with LIVESTRONG since 2007 by sponsoring LIVESTRONG Challenge bike rides across the country. Embassy Suites has challenged hotels to raise a $200,000 for the organization.

“I am honored to join thousands of other LIVESTRONG supporters around the world in raising much-needed funds,” Louis Haslett, general manager of the Bellevue hotel, said in a news release. “Together, we are helping people with cancer live life on their own terms.”

LIVESTRONG, founded by Tour de France champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong, has awarded more than $29 million to cancer survivorship programs and research since 1997.
