Issaquah and Sammamish business leaders plan to rally Friday to raise awareness about the issues facing the business community in the Nov. 2 election.
Enterprise Washington, plus the Issaquah and Sammamish chambers of commerce, has scheduled rally for noon Friday at Proliance Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, 510 Eighth Ave., in the Issaquah Highlands. The event — called the Jobs for Main Street rally — is open to the public.
The lineup includes local business leaders discussing why they chose Issaquah and Sammamish, how they support job growth and what they do to promote economic development.
Speakers include Sammamish chamber President Karla Benson, Jenny Dibble, founder of Issaquah-based SearchMarketMe, and Issaquah Hilton Garden Inn General Manager Will Parkinsons. Political candidates might also appear at the rally.
“We know that the health of our employers is critical to maintaining the outstanding quality of life here in our community,” Issaquah chamber leader Matthew Bott and Sammamish chamber chief Deborah Sogge said in a joint statement. “Our local businesses are the keys to job creation, innovation and economic recovery, and now is the time to ensure these employers have the resources, tools and platform to succeed.”
The rally is part of a statewide effort organized by Enterprise Washington to coincide with the day ballots should start to arrive in mailboxes.
