Issaquah High School captures volleyball title

The Issaquah High School volleyball team captured the 4A KingCo Conference regular-season title outright Monday when the Eagles defeated host Newport 3-0.
Issaquah won the games 25-14, 25-17, 25-18. The Eagles concluded the regular season with a 10-0 league record. Newport finished second in the league standings at 8-2.
Sarah Hanna had 17 kills and Riley Sorenson 35 assists for the Eagles. Maggie Reingold added 14 kills and 11 digs.
Issaquah will enter the KingCo/District Tournament Oct. 30 as the league’s top seeded team. The Eagles will host KingCo No. 7 at 1 p.m. in a first-round match.
In other action, Skyline lost to Woodinville 3-0. Woodinville took the games 25-17, 28-26, 25-17. Andrea Chon had 11 digs and Madison Stoa 20 assists for Skyline. Paige Haas contributed seven kills. Skyline finished the regular season with a 3-7 league record.
