Regular garbage pickup has resumed for Issaquah customers after several days of snow-related delays.
Allied Waste and Waste Management operate on a holiday schedule Friday, due to the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday. The haulers plan to serve Issaquah residents with a Thursday collection day, and then pick up trash for Friday customers on Saturday.
Allied Waste provides trash service in the South Cove and Greenwood Point neighborhoods; Waste Management handles garbage pick-up in the rest of the city.
Allied Waste also serves Klahanie and Mirrormont outside of Issaquah city limits in unincorporated King County.
Allied Waste offers tips to customers to address weather-related pickup delays:
- Up to twice the regular amount of garbage, and food and yard waste, will be accepted at no additional charge on the next regularly scheduled collection day for each container,
- Excess materials due to missed collection can be put in a temporary container — such as a box or paper bag marked “garbage” “recycling” or “yard debris.” There is no limit on the amount of accepted recyclables for collection.
- No credit is given for delayed residential collection due to weather conditions, but up to twice the regular amount is accepted at no charge to compensate for the missed collection.
