Girl Scout Troop, University House team for food donations
Girl Scout Troop 42669 teamed with the University House of Issaquah for its autumn food drive. The troop of 11 seventh-graders from Pine Lake, Beaver Lake and Issaquah middle schools went to University House on Nov. 1 with their Halloween costumes and collected 467 pounds of food donations and $157 for the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank.
Make-A-Wish Foundation names Issaquah trustee
Beverly Magee, of Issaquah, has joined the board of trustees of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska & Washington, the nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Magee is the director of sales and marketing at the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Prior to that, she worked as the director of sales and marketing at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle and at the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston. Magee has served on organizing committees for several other nonprofits, including the Run of Hope benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Foundation, Seattle Children’s and the Woodland Park Zoo.
A native Texan, Magee lives in Issaquah with her husband and twin daughters.
