Issaquah boys basketball wins league opener

NEW — 10 a.m. Dec. 8, 2010

The Issaquah High School boys basketball team shot to a 20-12 first quarter lead and stayed in front for good as the Eagles defeated visiting Woodinville 57-52 Tuesday in the 4A KingCo Conference opener for both teams.

Issaquah, 2-0 on the season, had a comfortable 35-20 lead at halftime. Woodinville made a late charge but couldn’t catch the Eagles.

Nick Price led Issaquah with a game-high 23 points. Nik Landdeck contributed 12 points and Cole Westover 10 points.

Joseph Reavley topped Woodinville with 13 points.

In other league games, it was Newport 62, Inglemoor 56 and Redmond 68, Bothell 50.
