Liberty swimmers sprint past Lake Washington team

Logan Briggs and Kevin Hays each won two individual races and swam on two winning relays as the Liberty High School boys swimming team cruised by Lake Washington 130-49 Tuesday in a 3A/2A KingCo Conference meet at Julius Boehm Pool.
Briggs captured the 100-yard butterfly in 56.68 seconds and took the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.83. He swam on the Patriots’ winning 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.
Hays won the 200 freestyle in 2:03.51 and the 500 freestyle in 5:38.30. He also swam on the Patriots’ winning 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Connor Biehl, of Liberty, won the 200 individual medley. He also swam on all three winning relays.
Raymond Ha and Luke Duschl won individual events and swam on winning relays, too.
Ha captured the 100 backstroke and swam on the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays. Duschl took the100 freestyle and anchored the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
Skyline swims by Woodinville
Alec Raines won two events and swam on a winning relay Tuesday to spark the Skyline High School boys swimming team to a 108-77 victory against Woodinville in a 4A KingCo Conference meet.
Raines won the 200 individual medley in 2:13.09 and took the 500 freestyle in 5:11.29. He swam on the 400 freestyle relay with Paul Jett, Ashton Powell and Ryan Collins.
Powell won the 200 freestyle and also swam on the Spartans’ winning 200 freestyle relay.
Paul Jett won the 100 butterfly and swam on the winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
David Jett captured the 50 freestyle and swam on the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
Skyline boys top Redmond in thriller
The Skyline High School boys basketball team posted a thrilling 41-37 4A KingCo Conference victory Tuesday against visiting Redmond. Lucas Shannon paced the Spartans with 13 points. Bryan Cikatz contributed eight points and Will Parker had seven points as Skyline won its league opener.
The victory was the second straight for Skyline, which is 3-1 on the season.
Spartans take down Bothell
Cyrus Sarkosh had a pin, and Justin Manipis and Ian Crouch each won matches with major decisions as the Skyline High School wrestling team defeated Bothell 41-27 Tuesday in a 4A KingCo Conference match.
Sarkosh won the 189-pound match by pinning Magnus Leo in 1:02. Manipis, a 125-pounder, defeated Andres Bird, 9-1 and Crouch, a 152-pounder, beat Dustin Rhode, 12-4.
