City Parks & Recreation Department employees pitched in to pick up debris and litter from the downtown Rainier Trail in mid-December.

Employees focused on the stretch from Southeast Bush Street to Second Avenue Southeast. The team picked up more than 28 bags of trash, plus some bicycle frames, a tire, orange construction cones and a broken skateboard.

The group tallied more than 40 hours of work in the course of the party.
