Liberty girls fall to Mount Si 57-46

The Liberty High School girls basketball team fell into a hole in the second quarter against Mount Si Jan. 22 and, despite a strong second half, the Patriots lost the 3A/2A KingCo Conference game 57-46.
“Mount Si came in with more energy, and they were playing harder,” Liberty head coach Randy Leifer said.
Mount Si caught fire near the end of the first half and outscored Liberty 26-7 in the second quarter. The Patriots seemed to be unable to stop Karly Thompson, of the Wildcats, as she sank numerous 3-pointers and racked up 13 points in the second quarter.
Going into halftime, Liberty trailed 31-14. However, in the second half, the Patriots struck back. Read more

Swedish/Issaquah emergency department honored
The Swedish/Issaquah Freestanding Emergency Department was recently named a 2009 Summit Award Winner by Press Ganey Associates.
The department, opened in March 2005, received the award by achieving and maintaining patient satisfaction scores in the 95th percentile or above for at least three years. The Press Ganey Summit Award is the health-care-satisfaction industry’s most coveted symbol of achievement.
The Swedish/Issaquah emergency department sees 24,000 patients per year. It was honored in June 2008 by Consumer Checkbook when it was rated the No. 1 emergency department in western Washington.
