The Rotary Club of Issaquah honored the following seniors as its students of the month for January.

Jordan Thompson

Jordan Thompson

School: Liberty High School

Parents: George and Sherri Thompson

Category honored: Leadership

Sponsoring teacher: Michelle Munson

Achievements: varsity golf captain (twice); junior varsity baseball captain; Associated Student Body vice president, homecoming king, junior class president

Activities/interests: ASB Leadership; math, DECA, Link Crew

Hobbies: Baseball, golf, fishing, ASB

Outside school affiliations: hanging with friends, working at Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course

Future goals: go to a four-year university and obtain a degree; continue leadership throughout life; pursue a career in the field of landscaping architecture

Activities/interests: sports medicine and athletic training

Hobbies: basketball, sports, water sports, service projects, card games, music, movies

Outside school affiliations: Athletes for Kids, basketball trainer, Bible study group

Future goals: attend Idaho State University, continuing education while playing basketball for the school; pursue medical career; really like sports medicine and athletic training

Achievements: first-place in team market research event at state DECA competition (2009); scored a 5 on Advanced Placement English language and composition exam; 3.95 grade point average; two varsity letters in gymnastics; IHS DECA Chapter chief operating officer; purchasing inventory specialist for DECA store

Hobbies: skiing, reading, movies, French language
