Man freed from garbage truck snagged in power lines

Emergency crews responded to Northwest Mall Street early Friday morning after a Waste Management truck became snared in power lines, trapping a man inside the cab.

Rescuers freed the injured man at about 7:30 a.m.

Eastside Fire & Rescue and Puget Sound Energy crews responded to the incident in the 1600 block of Northwest Mall Street as news helicopters thudded overhead.

Rescuers do not yet know if the truck snagged a power line or if the lines fell do to another cause.

Waste Management handles garbage pickup in most areas of Issaquah.
