Yvain Eugene Stansberry

Yvain Eugene Stansberry, of Centralia, and a former longtime resident of Issaquah, died Jan. 20, 2011, in Centralia, He was 55.
He was interred at Tahoma National Cemetery on Jan. 27.
Yvain was born Aug. 21, 1955, in Oklahoma City, to NaDene Dutcher. He was raised in Seattle.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was also an avid reader and lifelong learner.
Yvain was survived by his mother NaDene Dutcher, of Issaquah; three daughters, Rosalyn Stansberry, Robin Stansberry and Roxanne Stansberry, all of Issaquah; and one granddaughter.

State Route 18 near Issaquah reopens after brief closure

State Route 18 near Issaquah reopened in both directions at about 5 p.m. Tuesday after a brief closure.
The state Department of Transportation has closed state Route 18 in both directions from Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast to Interstate 90 due to crashes and inclement weather at about 4:15 p.m.
Conditions could worsen as the afternoon commute continues.
Forecasters said 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is possible in Issaquah Wednesday. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
The mercury is expected to drop to 29 degrees Wednesday night. The chance of snow continues through Thursday morning.
Issaquah motorists can check up-to-the-minute road conditions on real-time traffic cameras installed throughout Issaquah.

Meteorologists forecast snow for Issaquah in days ahead

Snow re-enters the forecast for Issaquah in the days ahead, after higher elevations received a dusting late Monday and early Tuesday.
National Weather Service forecasters in Seattle predict snow showers for lowland Issaquah through 10 a.m. Tuesday. Then, the snow level is expected to rise to 80 feet and the daytime high temperature to 42. Meteorologists said little or no snow accumulation is likely Tuesday.
Rain is likely to start Tuesday night and then turn to snow Wednesday. Forecasters said 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is possible in Issaquah Wednesday. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
The mercury is expected to drop to 29 degrees Wednesday night. The chance of snow continues through Thursday morning.

The end is near
A resident discovered a backpack full of survival supplies in the 2900 block of 224th Avenue Southeast and turned the bag in to police Feb. 3. The backpack contained water purifiers, plastic garbage bags, rope, soap, shampoo, a bag full of lighters and matches, duct tape, fishing line, a book titled “In Time of Emergency: A Citizen’s Guide on Disasters,” and a guide to surviving nuclear attacks and natural disasters.
Dumped
A dump trailer was stolen in the 14700 block of Southeast Tiger Mountain Road prior to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 3. The estimated loss is unknown.
Snapped
A digital camera was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Newport Way Southwest prior to 5:12 p.m. Feb. 4. The estimated loss is $395.
Plastic surgery
Police responded to reckless driving along Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast at 8:49 p.m. Feb. 4. The caller reported a vehicle with plastic covering a broken driver’s side window. Police could not locate the vehicle.
