Liberty High School netters whip Interlake

The Liberty High School girls tennis team took the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches Tuesday as the Patriots defeated Interlake 5-2 in a 3A/2A KingCo Conference match.

Amber Eastham won the No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory against Interlake’s Isabelle Long. Veronica Granger and Audrey LaFraugh defeated Interlake’s Iryna Strinyska and Miyati Raghavan 6-3, 7-5 in the No. 1 doubles match.

In the 4A KingCo Conference, Skyline swept all three doubles matches en route to a 6-2 victory against Inglemoor. Alison Opitz and Molly Knutson, of Skyline, won the No. 1 doubles with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 victory against Leanna Thim and Mckayla Dear.

Issaquah High School girls golf team tops Inglemoor

Elin Skaardal earned medalist honors Tuesday with a 42 as she led the Issaquah High School girls golf team to a 249-253 victory against visiting Inglemoor at the Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course.

Lauren Merdinyan shot a 46 and Morgan Young a 47 for the Eagles, who won their second 4A KingCo Conference match of the season.

In the 3A/2A KingCo Conference, Liberty defeated visiting Mount Si 247-268 at the Maplewood Golf Course. Rachel Hedlin, of Liberty, was medalist with a 43.

Issaquah soccer team edges Redmond

Drew Tacher scored two goals Tuesday as he led the Issaquah High School boys soccer team to a 3-2 victory against host Redmond in a 4A KingCo Conference game.

Tacher’s two goals gave Issaquah a 2-1 halftime lead. Alex Shane, who assisted on one of Tacher’s goals, sealed Issaquah’s victory with a goal at the 70th minute.

In the 3A/2A KingCo Conference, Liberty and Interlake fought to a 1-1 draw. Aaron Potoshnik scored Liberty’s goal.

Liberty softball team downs Interlake

Denise Blohowiak had three hits and drove in two runs Tuesday as she led the Liberty High School softball team to a 6-3 victory against Interlake in a 3A/2A KingCo Conference contest. Amber Smith was the winning pitcher.

Skyline lacrosse batters Mukilteo

The Skyline High School boys lacrosse club scored eight times in the fourth period Tuesday and walloped host Mukilteo 17-6 in a Washington State Association game at Kamiak High School.

Brennan West and Jack Pruitt each had three goals in the Division I contest.

In Division II play, Liberty defeated host Mount Si 7-1. Collin Ross had four goals for Liberty.
