Skyline High School girls beat Eastlake, Garfield

Elena Frerker and Jordan Branch each won two events Thursday as they led the Skyline High School girls track team to 4A KingCo Conference victories against Eastlake and Garfield.

Skyline won the three-way meet with 73 points. Eastlake was second with 68 points and Garfield was third with 35.

Frerker won the discus and the javelin.

Branch captured the 1,600 and the 3,200. She also ran of the Spartans’ winning 4×400 relay. Erin Bryar, Caitlin McIlwain and Maddi Hutson were other members of the relay.

The Skyline boys finished second to Garfield, which totaled 81 points. Skyline had 69 points and Eastlake had 31.

Liberty girls race past Mount Si

The Liberty High School girls track team raced by Mount Si 96-45 Thursday in a 3A/2A KingCo Conference meet.

Emily Pestl-Dimmitt, of Liberty, won the high jump and the 100 hurdles. Liberty swept the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays.

The Liberty boys, despite four first places from Joshua Gordon, lost to Mount Si 75-65. Gordon won the high jump, long jump, 100 and 200.

Issaquah track teams take second

The Issaquah High School boys and girls track teams both finished second Thursday in a three-way meet with Inglemoor and Woodinville.

In the boys meet, Inglemoor took first place with 67 points. Issaquah was close behind with 63 points and Woodinville was third with 51. Mike Baba, of Issaquah, won the shot put with a life-time best throw of 42 feet, 7 1/2 inches. He also captured the javelin. Jorrell Dorsey, competing in the triple jump for the first time, took first with a leap of 40 feet, 8 1/2 inches. Dorsey’s effort currently ranks fifth among league leaders.

Dorsey also ran on Issaquah’s winning 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

In the girls meet, Inglemoor was first with 85 points and Issaquah took second with 70 points. Woodinville was third with 30. Haley Jacobson, of Issaquah, won the 100, 200 and ran on the Eagles’ winning 4×200 and 4×400 relays.

Issaquah golfers lose to Eastlake

Megan Wotherspoon of Eastlake High School earned medalist honors Thursday with a 46 as she led the Wolves to a 277-302 victory against visiting Issaquah in a 4A KingCo Conference match at the Sahalee Golf and Country Club.

Lauren Merdinyan led Issaquah with a 51.

In the 3A/2A KingCo Conference, Liberty lost to Mercer Island 220-258 at Seattle’s Jefferson Park. Christa Dotson had a 46 to top Liberty.

Skyline lacrosse falls to Eastside Catholic

Colin MacIlvennie scored six goals, Michael Rambaldini and Ross Komenda each had five goals as Eastside Catholic defeated visiting Skyline 22-17 Thursday in a Washington State League Division 1 boys lacrosse game.

Jack Pruitt, Andrew Hankey and Alan DeWeirdt each scored four goals for Skyline.
