Skyline High School volleyball team is still unbeaten

The Skyline High School volleyball team defeated visiting Mercer Island 3-0 Thursday in a nonleague match in a battle of unbeatens.

Skyline won the games 25-23, 25-22, 25-18. Madison Stoa had six kills, 30 assists and three aces and Maddie Magee contributed 17 kills and three aces for the Spartans.

Halle Erdahl also had eight kills and 11 digs, and Kennedy Stoa 15 digs for Skyline.

The Spartans are 4-0 on the season. Mercer Island’s record went to 4-1.

Liberty girls soccer tops Bellevue

Shaniah Adriano’s goal at the 65th minute Thursday lifted the Liberty High School girls soccer team to a 2-1 victory against host Bellevue in a 3A/2A KingCo Conference battle.

Adriano’s goal snapped a 1-1 tie. Cassidy Nangle scored Liberty’s first goal just eight minutes into the contest. The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime.

The victory gave Liberty a 2-0 league mark. The Patriots are 3-1 on the season.

Spartans whip Garfield in tennis

The Skyline High School boys tennis team swept by Garfield 7-0 Wednesday in a 4A KingCo Conference match.

Aman Manji, of Skyline, won the No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory against Diego Alcaron. Skyline’s Brayden Hansen and Alex Wu captured the No. 1 doubles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Aaron Schechter and Patrick Mogon.
