Issaquah swimmers cruise by Woodinville, Redmond

The Issaquah High School girls swim team won two KingCo Conference 4A meets last week.
Stacy Maier and Kayla Flaten each won two individual races and swam on two winning relays Sept. 21 as they sparked the Eagles to a 107-79 victory against Woodinville.
Maier won the 100 freestyle in 56.84 seconds and took the 200 freestyle in 2:03.76. Flaten captured the 50 freestyle in 26.02 and took the 100 butterfly in 1:03.66.
Maier and Flaten swam the first two legs of Issaquah’s 200 medley relay, which finished first in 1:57.09. Kellie Langan and Gabrielle Gevers were other members of the relay team.
Gevers and Kayla Foremski joined Maier and Flaten on Issaquah’s winning 200 freestyle relay team, which finished in 1:46.66.
Issaquah also won the 400 freestyle relay. Emma Wrightson, Christina Kwon, Kellie Lynch and Foremski made up the relay team.
On Sept. 20, Issaquah defeated Redmond, 114-68. Maier, Flaten and Gevers each won two events and swam as members of two winning relay teams.
Maier won the 200 individual medley in 2:24.56 and captured the 500 freestyle in 5:37.18. Flaten took the 200 freestyle in 2:03.78 and won the 100 freestyle in 56.96. Gevers won the 50 freestyle in 27.37 and captured the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.48.
Maier, Flaten, Gevers and Langan composed Issaquah’s winning 200 medley relay team, which finished first in 2:03.27. Maier and Flaten also swam as members of the Eagles’ winning 400 freestyle relay team, which was clocked in 4:02.10. Foremski and Lynch also swam as members of the relay team.
Gevers, Foremski, Lynch and Wrightson composed Issaquah’s winning 200 freestyle relay team, which was first in 1:53.68.
