Liberty girls soccer team blasts Sammamish

The Liberty High School girls soccer team took another big step toward repeating as KingCo Conference 3A/2A champions Oct. 13 when the Patriots walloped host Sammamish, 7-0.

Liberty improved its league-leading record to 10-0. The Patriots have an eight point lead over Interlake and Lake Washington, who are tied for second place, with four games left on the regular-season schedule. Liberty entertained Lake Washington Oct. 18.

Cassidy Nangle and Kailiana Johnson each had two goals for Liberty in its victory against Sammamish. Johnson also had two assists. Kendall Downing, Kali Youngdahl and Nicolle Marlow scored Liberty’s other goals.

Kianna Hafferty had a hat trick Oct. 11 as Liberty walloped visiting Bellevue, 7-1. Hafferty also had an assist. Youngdahl had two goals and an assist, and Kimi Fry also had a goal and an assist for Liberty.
