Skyline boys basketball team wins opener

The Skyline High School boys team, which is optimistic this season with four returning starters from last year’s third-place finish in the KingCo 4A tournament, opened the season Dec. 3 with a 63-44 triumph against Auburn Mountainview at the Les Schwab Tipoff Classic.
Senior forward Lucas Shannon, who has signed a letter of intent to play for Saint Martin’s College, scored a game-high 23 points. Senior point guard Will Parker, who has committed to Seattle Pacific University, added 14 points. Senior forward Brian Cikatz added nine points.
Skyline took command of the game early, shooting to a 23-3 first-quarter lead.
