Eastside Fire & Rescue crews responded to a house fire in rural Preston at about 3 a.m. Thursday and, although the blaze leveled the home, the family inside escaped.
Firefighters responded to the Preston blaze, about five miles east of downtown Issaquah, after a report of fire on a forested stretch of roadway.
No occupant injuries resulted from the blaze.
Officials said the fire started in a carport adjacent to the home and then spread to the residence. Gasoline in the garage fueled the blaze.
The incident came less than a week after EFR and Maple Valley Fire & Life Safety crews responded to a house fire on Tiger Mountain after a FedEx driver spotted the blaze.
