Issaquah schools closed Tuesday due to winter weather

After first announcing they would be opening two hours late, Issaquah School District officials announced they would be closing schools Tuesday.

In a press release, officials said they made the decision after driving local roads at 3 a.m. Tuesday morning and finding icy conditions.

The closure means the cancellation of all meetings, programs, field trips, after-school activities, Headstart, school-age care and preschool. Snow days are built into the school calendar. The cancellation will be made up Friday, May 25.

High school students who have finals this week: The schedule has been pushed back by one day. Liberty High School finals are now on school days from Jan. 18 through Jan. 23. Issaquah and Skyline review day will be Jan. 18 with finals on school days from Jan. 19 to Jan. 23.

The school district invites the public to check local media, the district homepage at www.issaquah.wednet.edu, watch for district email for news of possible closures Wednesday.
