King County Sheriff’s Office investigators said a tree toppled on and killed a man near Issaquah on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at about 9:15 a.m. in the 15300 block of 231st Avenue Southeast as the 60-year-old man backed his all-terrain vehicle out of a shed. The combination of wind and weight from ice and snow caused the tree to topple.

Eastside Fire & Rescue medics responded to the scene, but could not save the still-unidentified man.

(The incident occurred in the May Valley area, about about three miles west of Mirrormont and about four miles south of downtown Issaquah.)
