Officials lowered flags to half-staff at Issaquah City Hall and other municipal buildings Thursday to honor slain Washington State Patrol Trooper Tony Radulescu.
Radulescu died in the line of duty Feb. 23 during a Kitsap County traffic stop. The state trooper’s killer died hours later of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
On Monday, Gov. Chris Gregoire called for flags at all state agency buildings be lowered to half-staff Thursday, and encouraged other government entities, businesses and citizens to join the recognition.
The directive comes the same day as Radulescu’s memorial service. The service is 1 p.m. at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
The flags should remain at half-staff until late Thursday afternoon or early Friday morning.
