Local students honored
The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women recently awarded the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Scholar Recognition Award to Issaquah students Linnane Lecoque (Liberty High School, technology), Kim Bussing (Issaquah High School, mathematics), Lauren Ryan (Issaquah, engineering), Supriya Dublish (Skyline High School, mathematics), Jessica Foo (Liberty, science), Erika Shirovna (Skyline, technology) and Maddi Hutson (Skyline, science). Also winning were Hanna Bergam (Liberty, mathematics) and Maria Dalzell-Matos (Issaquah, science).
Kathleen Huckabay joins Seattle Union Bank
Kathleen Huckabay, of Sammamish, has joined Union Bank’s Private Bank team in Seattle as a wealth strategist.
Huckabay has 20 years of wealth planning experience. She joins Union Bank after serving as a financial planner for US Bank Private Reserve. Prior to that, she was a senior wealth adviser at Berntson Porter PLCC and Laird Norton Trust Co.
Huckabay, a former mayor and councilmember of Sammamish, serves on the boards of the East King County Estate Planning Council, Habitat for Humanity of East King County Advisory Board, Eastside Baby Corner and Sammamish YMCA, and is a member of the Sammamish Kiwanis Club.
She has a degree in tax accounting and law from the University of Utah Graduate School of Business and a business degree from DePaul University.
