Kaileen Dougherty is awarded the PEO STAR Scholarship
Kaileen Dougherty, a senior at Issaquah High School, recently received the prestigious PEO STAR Scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year.
Dougherty is the daughter of Maria and Keith Dougherty. She was recommended for the scholarship by Chapter HV, of Redmond.
She has been accepted and will attend American University in Washington, D.C., where she plans to study public policy and broadcasting beginning this fall.
The PEO STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship should check with their school counselor in September of their senior year and be recommended by a PEO chapter.
Students receive Overlake Alumnae Panhellenic scholarships
Macaire Ament, of Liberty High School, and Kaitlyn Oss, of Skyline High School, were two of nine female college-bound students to receive Overlake Alumnae Panhellenic scholarships.
