June 9 Saturday Mount Teneriffe Hike Teneriffe Falls Loop. Follow a combination of well-built trails, little known paths and gated road segments to a spectacular seasonal waterfall on the lower slopes of Mount Teneriffe. Return route will include a viewpoint on the lower slopes of Mt. Si.

Discover Pass is required. Eight miles, 2,200-foot elevation gain.

June 10, Sunday 9 a.m.

Chasing the Snow. Help us chase the snow away along the Mountains to Sound Greenway. This week we travel from the Snoqualmie Point Trailhead along Rattlesnake Mountain to Rattlesnake Lake. This is a long strenuous hike. To participate, you should have in the past few months taken a hike at least 6 miles long with at least 1,800 feet of elevation gain. There will be a car shuttle. Bring something imaginative to share. Relax with us afterward at a cafe or pizza shop if you wish. WA Discover Pass is required. Ten miles, 2,700-foot elevation gain. Contact George Potter 516-5200.

June 10, Sunday 9:30 a.m. Rattlesnake Mountain Hike Climb to the three ledges for fantastic views. Bring your WA Discover Pass, if you have one. Five miles, 1,500-foot elevation gain. Contact Bob Gross 427-8449.

Youth sports/activities


Issaquah Parks offers fencing for ages 8-12 until June 5, Tuesdays from 7:15-8:15 p.m., at Endeavour Elementary School. Class is taught by Washington Fencing Academy. No experience is needed to take the class. Call 837-3300.


June 25-27, Commuter Wrestling Camp at Skyline High School. Sammie Henson, assistant head wrestling coach at the University of Oklahoma, will be the featured coach. The camp is for wrestlers grades six through 12. Learn more or register for the camp at Other details are available at
