Chalk Art Festival highlights winners

Dozens of artists turned pavement into colorful canvases at the Chalk Art Festival on the Issaquah Community Center grounds.
The municipal Arts Commission recently recognized the top artists from the July 17 event:
Ages 6 and younger
- Aakash: Space Needle
- Shelby, Porsche and Ben: mermaid
- Avani Kasturi: electric eel
Ages 7 to 11
- Riya: Earth with dolphin, bird and flower
- Spencer Berntsen: French pig
- Isha Rudra: peacock
Ages 12 to 15
- Lily Staffen: dragon
- Sharda Raina: owl with glasses
- Anumita Chopra: abstract tiger
Ages 16 and older, including adults
- Julie Hart: The Wall
- Carla Schneider: bear next to a tree stump
- Makenna Thomas: girl’s face
Family
- Ethan Chen and family: butterflies
- Hannah Duff and family: fairy
- Anish and Arthi Rudra: lotus flower, frog and fish
