The Lakeside Recovery Baseball Club defeated New Orleans 10-6 on Monday, launching them into the championship round of the American Legion World Series in Shelby N.C.
Jacob Rosen was the winning pitcher, going four and two-thirds innings giving up only two runs on seven hits. Lakeside took an early lead and piled on in the later innings taking advantage of some wild New Orleans pitching.
Right fielder Andrew Kemmerer and second basemen Jake Bakamus each came off the bench with three RBI.
Lakeside will face Brooklawn, N.J., Tuesday at 2 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Lakeside’s only loss in the World Series came at the hands of Brooklawn on Sunday, when they lost 3-2 in 10 innings.
If Lakeside wins that game, they will face New Orleans immediately after in the Championship game set for 5:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Both games can be viewed online at www.espn3.com.
