The city is considering a partnership with the state to improve the aging facilities at Lake Sammamish State Park. What needs to be improved at the park? Should the city or state shoulder the cost or partner to provide improvements?

Absolutely. And definitely in a partnership with the state as the park is used not just by Issaquah-area residents but also by residents throughout Western Washington as well as tourists. Issaquah has so much to offer, and a thriving tourism industry could be a real boon. Just think of all the wonderful events that could be held at the park if the current aging facilities were improved.

A boat storage and launching facility would be a great addition and could create operating income to be used for other improvements. There should also be a more robust trail system with numerous trailheads along Southeast 56th Street and East Lake Sammamish Parkway, as a way to make the park more connected to the surrounding neighborhoods.
