Salmon Days carol completes fall season

In honor of the approaching weekend, it comes to mind that we should remember the words to our favorite Salmon Days carol and share them with anyone new to Issaquah, so here they are!

“Here Come Salmon Days”

Here come Salmon Days,

Here come Salmon Days,

Right down Salmon Days Lane!

Sunset and Front Street, all the side streets

Filled with people again!

People are eatin’, fun field swingin’,

All is merry and bright.

So buy your T-shirts and festival wear

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!

Here come Salmon Days,

Here come Salmon Days,

Startin’ with the Grande Parade!

Bands full of marching girls and boys

With drums and flutes again!

Hear those fire trucks honk and hoot,

The floats are a beautiful sight,

Give Sammy a wave and cover your ears

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!

Here come Salmon Days,

Here come Salmon Days,

Coho at the Hatchery,

Swimmin’ and jumpin’, strugglin’ and leapin’,

Spawning once again!

It’s time to start the next generation,

That makes everything right

So look thru’ the windows, watch them return

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!

Here come Salmon Days,

Here come Salmon Days,

Music is on the way,

Rockin’ and rollin’, funkin’ and bluesin’

Jazz and country today!

Five great stages, musicians all over,

Playin’ to our hearts’ delight

So dance and clap and sing along

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!

Here come Salmon Days,

Here come Salmon Days,

Artisans every which way,

It won’t be done ‘till we’re all worn out

From eatin’ and walkin’ all day!

Peace and quiet will return to town

At the end of a busy Sunday,

Then we’ll give thanks for the fun we had

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!

Then we’ll give thanks for the fun we had

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!

Here come Salmon Days,

Here come Salmon Days,

Weekend’s goin’ away,

It won’t be done ‘till we’re all worn out

From eatin’ and walkin’ all day!

Peace and quiet will return to town

At the end of a busy Sunday,

Then we’ll give thanks for the fun we had

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!

Then we’ll give thanks for the fun we had

‘Cause Salmon Days comes — all right!
