Gloria was born June 8, 1932, in Seattle, to Francis and Hazel Towns. She was raised in Seattle and graduated from Franklin High School in 1950.

In June 1950, Gloria met Martin Olson at the Swedish Mid-Summer Festival at Vasa Park on Lake Sammamish. On April 21, 1951, they were married in Seattle. In their 60 plus years of marriage, they have danced at nearly every Mid-Summer Festival at Vasa Park; their last dance was this past June.

In 1960, Gloria and Martin settled in Renton, where they raised two children. Gloria worked for the Issaquah School District at Briarwood Elementary School as the school secretary. She retired after 23 years of loving and dedicated service to children.

In her leisure time, Gloria enjoyed dancing, travel and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She and her husband loved to spend the winter in Arizona, golfing and socializing. Gloria was also an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Issaquah.

Gloria is remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who participated in life to the fullest. Nurturing, witty, humble and a friend to many, Gloria is deeply missed.
