Arv Corlis

Arv Corlis passed away from a lengthy illness Oct. 1, 2012, at Providence Marianwood.

He was born in Amherst, S.D., to William and Jenny Corlis on Oct. 31, 1932. When Arv was 5, he and his family moved to Renton, where he lived until he graduated from Renton High School. Shortly after graduation, he served in the Korean War.

While home on leave, Arv married Anna Berntsen, with whom he spent the rest of his life. Together, they raised their three children in Issaquah. Arv supported his family through his work as a bearing specialist until his stroke in 1981. His entire life he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Anna; sister Vi (Bob); sons Arv Jr. (Cathy) and Joe (Dana); daughter Deb; five grandchildren, Jim, Jennifer, James, McKenna and Garrett; and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Jackson.

Arv was predeceased by his father and mother and four sisters, Iola, Iva, Donna and Doris.

He will always be loved, forever missed and never forgotten.

Services were held at Providence Marianwood (3725 Providence Point Drive S.E., Issaquah) on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. with a reception following at the Pine Lake Community Club (21333 S.E. 20th St., Sammamish, WA 98075).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Marianwood or a charity of your choice.
