How did Skyline’s shooting threat affect you?

Eastside Catholic High School

“I was scared for how this could affect my school.”

Ethan Kusters, freshman

“It was a completely new experience for me. I had never seen something like this happen before. I wasn’t sure how to react.”

Bella Mancini, junior

Issaquah High School

“It definitely made shooting threats hit closer to home and put everyone on edge. I know some people who were even being blamed for the threat.”

Jared Christenson, junior

“My initial thought was that it was a joke, but then I saw the actual post. It is scary to think that someone would even post such a serious threat. I’m glad that nothing actually happened!”

Leah Thomson, senior

Liberty High School

“It’s sad that the school district takes the time to shut down all of Skyline for a day due to a shooting threat, but decides to let Liberty have school on the day of an alleged bombing.”

Hannah Park, senior

“I don’t know anybody from Skyline or that area. I’m from Renton and I haven’t seen many differences at Liberty.”

Tyler Ackerson, junior

Skyline High School

“I felt like my safety was compromised and that school is supposed to be a safe environment. I questioned general school safety a lot more. Even though it was a fake threat, I feel like school bullying could result in something even worse than that.”

Karan Sunil, senior

“Well, I try my best to be nice and accepting to everyone, but now I guess I’m going to try and watch my actions more carefully and make sure I’m not unintentionally hurting anybody. Many people have tough situations at home that we don’t know about, so it’s really important to just be kind to everyone and stop judging people so closely.”

Bree Davis, sophomore
