Wells Fargo is the latest announced tenant for the long-planned Issaquah Highlands retail center, Grand Ridge Plaza.
San Francisco-based Wells Fargo plans to open a 2,600-square-foot branch at Highlands Drive Northeast and Northeast Federal Drive by September.
Customers can expect to see “green” features in the business, such as energy efficient light fixtures, water-saving plumbing fixtures, and sustainably grown and harvested wood materials.
The company also announced plans to open 15 to 20 outposts throughout the Puget Sound region in the next five years.
“The Puget Sound region continues to grow and we are excited to match that growth by adding additional banking operations,” Patrick Yalung, Wells Fargo Washington region president, said in a statement. “This expansion is an investment in our customers, team members and the entire Puget Sound community. We look forward to meeting the financial needs of our growing customer base and announcing new locations throughout the Puget Sound over the next five years as the details become finalized. ”
The latest announcement adds a long-expected bank to the lineup at Grand Ridge Plaza.
Other tenants include a 12-screen Regal Cinemas, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls and HomeGoods, RAM Restaurant & Brewery, Big Fish Grill, ULTA Beauty, and a Safeway and associated gas station.
The tenant list also includes homegrown businesses Zumiez, a specialty sports equipment and clothing company based in Lynnwood, and another location for Seattle-based Chinoise Sushi Bar & Asian Grill.
Grand Ridge Plaza encompasses 10 blocks and 15 buildings spread across 280,113 square feet. The project is the largest commercial venture in the highlands since Swedish/Issaquah opened in July 2011.
The project developer, Regency Centers, and highlands developer Port Blakely Communities broke ground on Grand Ridge Plaza in June 2012 after more than a decade of delays and scrapped plans.
