Ardys Corra

Ardys Corra, age 85, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Issaquah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Ardys was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Rake, Iowa, and moved to Seattle, becoming a beautician shortly after graduating high school. Ardys met her husband Bob in Issaquah in May 1948. The two got married a few months later, on New Year’s Eve, and just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.

Ardys then decided to stop working and dedicate her time to raising her four boys. Ardys’ greatest passion was spending time with her family and being a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved cooking, humming birds, shopping, playing basketball when she was younger and cheering on the Seattle Mariners.

Ardys is survived by her husband Bob; four sons — Bob, Jim, Rick and Gary; six grandchildren — Kyle, Cerissa, Britt, Travis, Leah and Carson Corra; three sisters — Elenor Hircko, Dee Bakamus and Dar Boni; and countless loving friends. All of Ardys’ family still resides in the Puget Sound area — a true testament to the strong family values that she instilled in everyone around her.

Ardys will be dearly missed but never forgotten; her infectious spirit and her love of family will be passed on forever.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Our Savior Lutheran Church. A committal service will follow at Lower Hillside Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Issaquah Eagles.

A visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Feb. 5 at Flintoft’s Funeral Home.

Friends are invited to sign the family’s online guestbook at www.flintofts.com.
