Local student initiated into Phi Kappa Phi

Michael Lahey, of Issaquah, was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi — the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Lahey is pursuing a degree in earth/planetary sciences at University of Louisiana, Lafayette.

Local students make honor rolls

The following local students were named to the fall honor roll at Oregon State University. To qualify, students must carry at least 12 graded hours and earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average (out of 4).

  • Issaquah: Sarah Jacobi, Devin O’Donnell and Sarah Roberts
  • Renton: Sarah Baker
  • Sammamish: Yuanjun Levy, Ashley McLaughlin and Carly Nienaber

Anthony Mantz, of Issaquah, was recently named to the fall trimester honor roll at the Williston Northampton School, in Easthampton, Mass. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 87 percent.

The following local students were recently named to the 2012 fall semester honor roll at Montana State University. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

  • Issaquah: Nicole Larson (4.0), Laura Tochko (4.0) and Erika Whitney
  • Renton: Thomas Bradley, Nicole Fairclough, Austin McCutchen and Jacob Nunemaker (4.0)
  • Sammamish: Ryan Galloway, Chelsea Guenette, Emma Hannigan (4.0), Andrew Johnson, Keegan McBride (4.0) and James Nielsen

Issaquah students make deans’ lists

The following students were named to the spring 2012 dean’s list at Biola University, in La Mirada, Calif. To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

  • Issaquah: Jamie Johnson and Peter Stacy
  • Newcastle: Jeremy Hamann
  • Renton: Scott Alford

Alexander Gruber, of Issaquah, was named to the fall 2012 semester dean’s list at the University of New Haven, in West Haven, Conn. To qualify, full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average for the semester.

The following students were named to the fall 2012 quarter dean’s list at Eastern Washington University. To qualify, students must earn 12 quality hours and receive a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

  • Issaquah: Matthew Darjany and Jay Deines
  • Preston: Jason Abrams
  • Renton: Chelsea Boyle, Keli Cresta, Jessica Emig, Rebecca Erb, Scott Hargett, William Huang, Kara Leung, Kara Leung, Shawna Lindberg, Bria Nolan, Christie Schmidt, Callie Weber and Jordan West
  • Sammamish: Mitchell Collier, Dallas Deremer, Courtney Duda, Peyton Foucht, Danielle Garrido, Danielle Matthews, Kristin Milton, Maria Morgan, Sarah Pellicano, Deanna Poulin and Alex Troyer

Claire Holcombe, a 2012 graduate of Issaquah High School, was recently named to the 2012 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Idaho. To qualify, students must complete 12 or more credits and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Kjerstin Richards, of Renton, was named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at Midland University. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Jessie Byron, of Issaquah, was named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at George Fox University, in Newberg, Ore. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

John Lorenz, a 2011 graduate of Liberty High School, was named to the 2012 fall semester dean’s list, with distinction, at Duke University, in Durham, N.C.

Issaquah students Amelia Meigs, Daniel Williams and Anna Fairhart were named to the fall 2012 semester dean’s list at Marquette University, in Milwaukee.
