Kiwanis host Issaquah community cleaning

Issaquah’s side of Interstate 90 will receive a good spring-cleaning for Earth Day next month.

In an attempt to revive an old tradition, the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah will host a Spring Clean Up on April 20. The club has decided to spend time focusing specifically on those areas south of the interstate to bring a little tender love and care in the wake of the commuter horde.

Not wanting to monopolize all of the praise, the Kiwanis are looking for volunteer groups or individuals to push some brooms, pick up some litter or plant some flowers.

The Spring Clean Up will begin at 9 a.m. at the Hailstone Feed Store, 232 Front St. N., and will last until noon. The Kiwanis will provide post-work refreshments until 2 p.m.
