The city invites locals to plant trees in recognition of Earth Day.

To help beautify along Issaquah Creek and Pickering Trail, the city needs volunteers to help with placing the saplings from 11 a.m. to noon April 20. Individuals or groups wishing to participate can register at the information booth near the Pickering Trail entrance beginning at 9 a.m.

Organizations like the Cascade Bicycle Club, Seattle Tilth, the Issaquah Garden Club and the Master Gardeners have already volunteered, but more are encouraged to join.

The day will also mark the opening day of the Issaquah Farmers Market at Pickering Barn with local exhibitors available between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Learn more by calling the Issaquah Parks & Recreation Department at 837-3300.
