The Woods celebrate their 70th anniversary

David and Joan Wood celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary March 22, 2013.

They both grew up in Seattle; David attended Roosevelt High School and Joan attended Garfield High School. They attended the University of Washington. David and Joan met while skiing with college buddies on a trip to Paradise at Mount Rainier.

While at the UW, David was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and spent his entire career in the University District as a CPA. He was a Lion’s Club member for many years, serving as president and treasurer. Joan is a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and was an active member of the Women’s University Club. They retired in Waikiki, Hawaii, and moved to Arizona in 1991. They returned to Washington in 2011 to be closer to family.

David and Joan have two children: son Randy (Joan), of Issaquah, and daughter Melissa, of Everett. They also have four grandchildren and three great grandsons.
