Volunteers sought to help plant trees for Earth Day

April 16, 2013

By Staff

The city invites locals to plant trees in recognition of Earth Day.

To help beautify the areas along Issaquah Creek and Pickering Trail, the city needs volunteers to help with placing the saplings between 11 a.m. and noon April 20. Individuals or groups wishing to participate can register at the information center near the Pickering Trail entrance beginning at 9 a.m.

Organizations like the Cascade Bicycle Club, Seattle Tilth, Issaquah Garden Club and the Master Gardeners have already volunteered, but others are encouraged to join.

The day will also mark the opening day of the Issaquah Farmers Market at Pickering Barn, with local exhibitors available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
