Poker tourney to aid visiting Moroccan artists

A charity Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament will be held May 10 to help bring artists from Chefchaouen, Morocco, to Issaquah.

The Lake Sammamish Elks Lodge No. 1843, the city’s Sister Cities Commission and the American Moroccan International Exchange is hosting the event to bring home some of the arts and culture from Issaquah’s sister city. During Salmon Days, the organizations hope the visiting artists will share their talent with local schools and the community.

The tournament will take place at 6 p.m. at the Lake Sammamish Elks Lodge, 765 Rainier Blvd. N. Register at the door beginning at 5 p.m., or pre-register by calling the Sister Cities Commission at 837-3000.

The buy-in is $40. Donated prizes will be awarded.
