Some city streets to close for runners

Motorists should prepare for street closures the morning of May 11 for the Mother’s Day Dash, according to a press release from the city.

The Mother’s Day Dash is a family-oriented activity to celebrate mothers and raise funds for the Issaquah Schools Foundation.

Runners will start at 12th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Gilman Boulevard, proceed along Northwest Gilman Boulevard to Rainier Boulevard North, and then return along the same route.

The following streets will be closed from 8-11 a.m.:

12th Avenue Northwest between Northwest Maple Street and Northwest Gilman Boulevard

Rainier Boulevard from Northwest Juniper Street to Northwest Dogwood Street

Northwest Gilman Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 12th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Juniper Street.

Northwest Gilman Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 12th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Juniper Street.

The event is expected to attract about 800 participants. Parking will be provided at Sports Authority and nearby parking lots.
