Sunny Hills principal takes position with district

Sunny Hills Elementary School Principal Sarah White announced that she will leave the school to become the district’s director of instructional support.

“This was not an easy decision to make. I will miss everyone here tremendously,” she wrote in an email to Sunny Hills families. “However, I am following an important life lesson that we try to teach all of our students: Challenge and change are often necessary for growth and fresh perspectives.”

White encouraged parents to fill out an online survey to help determine desired qualities in the school’s next principal, as the district begins its search. The survey closes at 4 p.m. June 3 and can be found at svy.mk/1afV5gO.

“The superintendent has assured me that your next principal will be a leader with the energy and ideas necessary to care for and expand this school’s achievement levels in the future,” White wrote. “The new principal will also have to look good in a hard hat because s/he will oversee the complete rebuild of the school.”

The district expects to name a replacement by the end of June.
