Kip Brown finishes fourth at Big Wake Weekend

Competing in the 95 Spirit of Qatar hydroplane, local driver Kip Brown, of Preston, took fourth at Sacramento’s Big Wake Weekend.

After a weekend in which the team struggled to find speed, Brown earned just enough preliminary points to make it to the finals.

The 95 Spirit of Qatar placed fourth out of seven teams at the June 1 event on Folsom Lake.

The team will now head back to Preston to get the boat ready for competition in Madison, Ind., in July.
