A power outage occurred at about 9:30 p.m. June 30 in neighborhoods ranging from the Issaquah Highlands to Talus, and including downtown.

As of 10:15 p.m., representatives from Puget Sound Energy confirmed that Swedish/Issaquah was among the sites left without power. They said that a little over 6,000 of the utility’s customers had no electricity. Citizens reported to The Issaquah Press that transformers had exploded on Squak Mountain.

Puget Sound Energy expects full restoration to be complete by 4 a.m. July 1, though reports came in from homeowners that the lights were coming back on an hour after the initial blackout.

The cause for the outage is still being determined.

I had been on Cougar filming the Seattle skyline .

Arriving back in Issaquah the first sign of trouble was that Target was being run on backup generators. Power came back about 35 minutes ago.
