Local students make deans’ lists

  • Connor Higgins, of Issaquah, was named to the dean’s list at Duke University for the spring 2013 semester. To qualify for the Arts & Sciences dean’s list, students must rank in the top third of their college.
  • The following students from Issaquah were recently listed on the 2013 spring semester dean’s list at University of Portland: Kelsey Hu, Laura Parsons, Madeleine Hutson, Megan Rossman, Samuel Breed, Sarah Underwood and Shelby Miller.

  • Daniel Williams and Anna Fairhard, both of Issaquah, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. Williams is pursuing a degree in chemistry; Fairhart is pursuing a degree in nursing.
  • David Erickson and Eric Bailey, both of Issaquah, and Erika Ikstrums, of Sammamish, made the dean’s list at University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. To qualify, undergraduate students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 on a minimum of 10 graded credits.
  • Jasmine Watters, of Issaquah, made the dean’s list at Saint Martin’s University, in Lacey. To qualify, undergraduate students must receive a 3.5 grade point average or higher based on a 4.0 scale, carry at least a 12-semester-hour course load and complete all coursework undertaken for the semester.
  • Kevin Hays, of Renton, was named to the dean’s list at Washington University, in St. Louis, Mo., for the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters. The minimum grade point average for the dean’s list is 3.6.
  • Joey Bradley and Alexander, both of Issaquah, were named to the dean’s list at the University of New Haven for the spring 2013 semester. To qualify, full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.
  • The following local students were recently named to the Gonzaga University’s dean’s list for spring semester 2013. To qualify, students must earn a 3.5 to 3.69 grade point average.

Issaquah: Danielle Bushmaker, Sophia Clausen, Riley Englin, Jeffrey Helling, Rachel Hildie, Jessica Klein, Maria Mondloch, Alanna Redine, Michael Scafidi, John Winslow and Andrew Yoon

Renton: Ian Shioyama

  • Newcastle: Kia Hellrigel
  • Jason Walker, of Issaquah, was named to the spring 2013 dean’s list at Wake Forest University, in Winston Salem, N.C. To qualify, students must earn a 3.4 or higher grade point average.
  •  Daniel Gibbs, of Issaquah, was named to the dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Letters and Science.
  •  Erin Freeman and Nathalie Langlois, both of Issaquah, and Katherine Slyngstad, of Sammamish, were recently named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring 2013 semester. To qualify, students must attain a 3.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), or be in the top 30 percent of their class.
  •  E. Caroline Kelessidou, of Issaquah, was named to the 2013 spring semester dean’s list at Utica College, in Utica, N.Y. To qualify, students must achieve a grade-point average of at least 3.4. Kellessidou is studying for a degree in financial crimes investigations.
