New club opens doors to local youth writers

September 3, 2013

By Staff

Starting Sept. 10, young writers will gather weekly in the Plaza Room of the Sammamish Library, 825 228th Ave. S.E., to develop, share and edit each other’s writing.

Members can participate with their personal writings or with monthly projects designed for the club. The club will explore different genres, including poetry, realistic fiction, journalism and screenwriting. Local authors and writers will also visit the group to give insight to the young writers.

Participants in the Sammamish Youth Writing Club, started by Skyline High School student Niyathi Chakrapani, may have their works published in The Issaquah Press, and they will be displayed at various events of which the members will receive notification.

Meetings will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays. Learn more or RSVP for meetings by emailing
