Drunken teens

At 2:22 a.m. Aug. 21, police were making a check of the area behind QFC where they found three teens, two males and an unconscious female. The males said they had gotten the girl drunk and were caring for her. One of the males seemed drunk, too. The officer called the girl’s mother and for medical assistance. Once she was cleared by medics, she was released to her mother. One boy was taken home to his grandparents and the other was sent on his way and advised not to drive his vehicle.

Domestic violence

A woman reported her husband had hit her in the head and she was having trouble hearing. Her husband had controlled her wrists and shoved her head onto the bed, leaving marks. She and her husband both said they had kicked each other earlier in the evening, but gave differing accounts about who kicked who first. The man was arrested for assault. At that point, the woman said she did not want him arrested and said she wanted to know how she might protect him.

One of the classics

Police responded to a home in the 3000 block of 255th Avenue Southeast at 11:05 p.m. Aug. 24 when the homeowner reported a flaming bag on his doorstep. He said the flames were 2 feet high. After extinguishing it, he saw two teenage males running away. His daughter was having a birthday party, which he speculated was the impetus for the prank.

Green ninjas

A woman in the 24000 block of Southeast 11th Place reported that two men on her front porch between 1 and 1:15 p.m. Aug. 21. Both men were wearing green bodysuits and green masks. They rang the doorbell and then left. The homeowner had not been expecting any servicemen to come.

Frosty air

A couple in the 2800 block of 217th Avenue Southeast reported they had paid a contractor $1,400 for a repair/replacement of their home air conditioner Aug. 6. By Aug. 18, the work had not been done, and a refund check provided by the contractor had insufficient funds in the account. The contractor stopped responding to calls about the situation.

Car break-in

Someone tried to break into a car in the 2400 block of 25th Avenue Southeast at about 8:55 p.m. Aug. 18. The car’s owner was alerted and able to chase the suspect off before he took anything. The car was damaged in the attempt.
